| Summary | 06954: Subwar 2050 CD32 – Savegame issue with WHDLoad Slave v1.2c I am using the CD32 | ||||
| Description | GameVersion: AMIGA CD32 CD-Rom SlaveVersion: version 1.2-c Subwar 2050 CD32 – Savegame issue with WHDLoad Slave v1.2c I am using the CD32 version of Subwar 2050 with WHDLoad Slave v1.2c on a real Amiga 1200. The game saves and restores all option/settings changes correctly, so the save path appears to be working. However, pilot data and game progress are never saved. Steps to reproduce: - Create a new pilot. - Exit the game using the WHDLoad quit key. Restart the game. Expected result: The pilot and career progress should be available after restarting the game. Actual result: The pilot is missing and all game progress is lost. Only the game options/settings remain saved. The nonvolatile.library is installed in LIBS:, but pilot data and career progress are still not retained. P.S the Diskversion works fine ;-) | ||||

| According to the original CD32 manual, saved games are stored in the CD32 non-volatile memory (NVRAM). With WHDLoad Slave v1.2c, game options are saved correctly, but pilot data and campaign progress are not retained. | |

Additional information: I tested the CD32 version using WinUAE with a full CD32 console emulation. In this setup, the game correctly saved both the options and the pilot/career progress into the NVRAM file. Therefore, the save functionality itself appears to work correctly in the original CD32 environment. I have attached/uploaded the generated NVRAM file from the WinUAE test in the hope that it may help identify the issue with the WHDLoad version. Perhaps comparing the contents of the working NVRAM file with the data generated by the WHDLoad installation could provide some clues. Thanks for taking a look. |

I extracted the options and pilots entries from a working CD32 NVRAM file created in WinUAE. The WHDLoad version can read both files correctly: the options are applied and the pilot “Raoul” appears in the game. Options can also be changed and saved correctly. However, any changes to the pilot/career progress are not written back to the pilots file. | |
