hi guys!
thankx for the wonderful lamborghini american challenge installer! yeah, it
is great but there is definitely something wrong with this game! i dont know
whether it is due bad memory allocation or a simple game - bug. the fact is
that this game behaves in a really weird way! so whats the problem?
during gameplay you buy misc car - extras in a shop: speed bursters, brakes,
, police radar killers, gears, etc.... now, when i buy the automatic 5 speed
gear, the other extras (toolbox and manual 5 speed gear) disappear with words
"NOT AVAILABLE". This should be fine, since the $ 40000 5 speed AUTO gear
gives you the same speed improvement as just buying the $ 15000 toolbox and $
38000 manual gear!
Suddenly, in later stages, absolutely unlogically, the 5 speed MANUAL gear
appears back (!!!) and if not bought it disallows the usage of other extras.
how? in division 2, you have to buy the 6 speed gear in order to be
competitive with top class cars. The 6 speed gear simply disappeared from
the shop and appears back, right after you buy the 5 SPEED manual !!! yeah,
would be easy to say, dude, buy the 5 gear manual and six gear auto then and
dont take care about it anymore, BUT: after buying the six speed (AUTO or
MANUAL) the garage screen says, my cars top speed is.... 89 kmh! A REAL
BUG! SAD BUT TRUE!
ironically, when you buy the manual 5 speed gear first, everything is ok but
you have to use this annoying manual gear without the option upgrading to the
auto gear later... the 5 speed auto gear disappears forever and thats all.
(you have to wait for 6 speed for ages and kill your joystick with gear
switching in the race....)
other bugs: sometimes, after buying better brakes and tires, other extras
(5speed gears-both) disappear and the only thing left in a shop is the speed
burster. (savegame/memory problem??)
everytime i reach the division challenge level (trucks), the music and sound
effects get corrupt (audio plays garbage sounds). but only for this track!
right after, the music suddenly plays normally and the sound FX on regular
tracks are ok.
the game saves only after quitting! or, it saves "normally", but you cant
use preload! then (without preload), there is this nerving screen jumping
while loading and unwanted music interrupts probably due to osemu
processes... the same thing happens in whdloaded biing! without preloading,
not worth playing. veeeeery user friendly installer-a game that needs 8 megs
fast to run with full extras, suddenly "works" under whdload in a normal way
only if i have 10 times more ram!! thats a bit crazy - osemu for biing!!!
i tried the game (Lamborghini) on an accelerated A1200 , BlizzPPC 040/200, no
startup sequence, no setpatch, no caches and on a plain A1200: nocaches,
original chipset - no success on both. PLEASE HELP! Do you have the same
problem? Can you solve it?
One more thing. Lamborghinis whdload loader is quite slow. the game can be
easily started on an unaccelerated a1200 without caches using jst for EXECUTE
and loads noticeably faster-even when using HDD (since whdloader preloads the
whole thing to ram but probably due emulating loses speed)!! the only extra
feature is the option to quit the game and load it from a full wb-patched
workbench (mcp, setpatch, magicmenu etc..).
The attached saves.lha contains my savegame files-try them. rename them to
"nmdat" and copy them to ldata directory.
nmdat1 - division 3. buy the auto 5 speed gear, race WYOMING (it is the
fastest to complete) and after completing (or quitting F5) you can see the
manual 5 speed returned back! you can buy it but after that your cars top
speed is only 89 kmh...
nmdat2 - division 4. as you can see, the only extra in the shop is the speed
burster. the 5 speed gears and toolbox disappeared (and they have not been
bought yet !!!). now race spokane (fastest), after completing the 5 speed
gears and the toolbox magically return! moreover - try the whole thing once
again, race something different than spokane, the gears and toolbox will not
return!! MAGIC! What the hell is that?
nmdat3 - division 2. some extras in the shop, that should be there - ARE NOT
there! you can buy the 5 speed manual gear and after that leave the shop.
after that, the extras are available. you can buy them, of course, but your
cars top speed is not what it should be. now try to race something, your car
behaves in a strange way, no speedup is possible, the speed is limited... if
you buy the 6 speed manual, everything seems to be ok, until you reach the
sixth gear, and then it is possible to switch to the seventh gear (which cant
be obtained in the game at all). if you do it your car wont go 356 kmh + but
simply refuses to go faster, the speed decreases and the only thing is to
downgrade to neutral and try it again. VEEEEERY annoying and not worth
playing. simply buggy.
