Modem Play - Modem must be Hayes compatible and be capable of Auto Answer.
Don't play White Death with the write protect tab set on your diskette.
Although White Death may be installed on a hard disk, it cannot be executed
while the Workbench is open. There is not enough video ram left after
Workbench takes its share. If you install this on a hard disk be sure to
include "wgames" and its contents as a subdirectory and to set the STACK
at 30000 (thirty thousand).
The computer opponent, when selected, is initiated by menu selection.
For example, if you are the phasing player and have finished moving and
defining your attacks, the computer player is initiated by selecting
the defensive fire option from the menu. Combat resolution proceeds in
three steps - Define attacks, Defensive fire and Offensive fire. Only one
of these options is available for selection at any one time. Note that if
"defensive fire" is available for selection then "define attacks" is the
current activity, defensive fire being the next activity in the sequence.
Rule 9.C.3 is satisfied AUTOMATICALLY when you attack a weapons unit.
This means that fire is allocated to all personnel units. Attempting
to allocate fire against a personnel unit after you have allocated against
a weapons unit will cancel the allocation against the weapons unit. See
the discussion about deselecting targets in the "Getting Started" section
of the instruction manual.
Initial entry areas:
In Purkayev's Attack the lone anti-aircraft unit goes into the city of
Isotsha at the upper left hand corner of the map. This is a little
difficult to see as the area is comprised of only one hex.

The kickstart image must be located in the directory "Devs:Kickstarts"
and must be named "kick34005.A500". The image can be extracted from a
A500 with tools like 'GrabKick' or similar which can be found on aminet.
If the image is of wrong version or altered in any way WHDLoad will
quit with a appropriate requester.
Additionally the file "kick34005.A500.RTB" must be installed in the
same directory as the kickstart image. It can be found in the archive
"util/boot/skick346.lha" on aminet.
