This install applies to "Megademo" © 1989 Electronic Artists.
Requirements:
-------------
This install requires WHDLoad and RawDIC to be in the path.
These programs can be found in the WHDLoad package.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed demo requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.5 MB for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
Features:
---------
- Full load from HD (real files!)
- All OS stuff patched
- Decruncher (TetraPack 2.1) relocated to fast memory (x5)
- DMA wait in replayer fixed (x4)
- Byte write to volume register in replayer fixed (x4)
- DIWSTRT fixed (x2)
- Interrupts fixed
- Reset at end of demo patched to quit WHDLoad
- ButtonWait supported for loader (right mouse button to load next part)
- Color flashing during decrunching can be enabled with CUSTOM1
- 3 NewIcons (all created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
I always liked this demo so I started the day at work with creating a
patch for it. There weren't too many problems, 2 parts had wrong DIWSTRT
($dff08e) settings so they only worked correctly on OCS machines, other
than that there were no major problems. The demo originally reboots the
machine after the last part, I have patched this of course, now the demo
will simply quit back to DOS after the last part. I have also relocated
the TetraPack decrunchers (TetraPack is basically a ByteKiller clone with
an additional RLE pass and lacks the checksum check), if you like
the flashing colors during decrunching you can enable them with CUSTOM1=1.
The demo features a nice loader part which would be almost invisible due
to the fast loading from HD. To fix that I have added support for the
ButtonWait tooltype, if enabled you will have to press right mouse button
to load the next part, this way you can enjoy the loader screen.
The deno can be downloaded here:

Enjoy another classic demo from HD and have a nice summer everyone.
