Requirements:
-------------
This install requires WHDLoad and RawDIC to be in the path.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed demo requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.8 MB OtherMem for preload).
It can be quit by pressing Escape (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
Features:
---------
- Full load from HD (real files!)
- Decruncher (ByteKiller) relocated to fast memory and error check added
- DMA wait in replayer fixed
- Byte write to volume register fixed
- DMA settings fixed
- Keyboard routine rewritten
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'Esc')
The patch for this classic which is also known as "DOC Demo 2" was
more or less finished for almost 2 years already. Created most
of the patch a few days before going on summer holiday in July 2013,
worked a bit more on it on a rainy day during the holiday and then
forgot about it as usual. :)
Yesterday I was reminded of this patch thanks to a message from
Mark36 on EAB, did the last remaining work and finally finished it.
The code is quite OK, Unknown sure was (and still is!) a very good
coder. There is quite some self-modifiying code though which I first
started to fix but since it would've taken ages due to the amount of
SMC I finally decided to simply disable the instruction cache!
All files are crunched with ByteKiller, I have, as usual, relocated
the decruncher to fast memory and added an error check, if decrunching
fails WHDLoad will quit with an appropriate message.
To open the song selector menu press "Help", you can then choose the
songs with the cursor keys, return loads the selected song. To read
instructions in the scroller, press "i". There are a lot of keyboard
functions hence the default quitkey is "Escape" as the "standard"
keys (Help, Del etc.) are used by the demo.
Enjoy this classic from HD!
