This install applies to "Aquarium" 1993 Carillon & Cyberiad.
Requirements:
-------------
This install requires WHDLoad and DIC to be in the path.
These programs can be found in the WHDLoad package.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed demo requires 0.5 MB ChipMem and 0.5 MB OtherMem
(+0.7 MB OtherMem for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
Features:
---------
- Full load from HD
- Blitter waits added (x19)
- Bplcon0 color bit fixes (x48)
- Decruncher (StoneCracker 4.01) relocated to fast memory
- Interrupts fixed
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
Quite an underrated classic here! Released at ECC'93 and ranked 6th
in the demo compo. Really nice effects, definitely not your usual
'93 demo! And don't forget: 5 times better than Melon. :)
Code is quite nice and clean, however, patching the demo was kinda
annoying as a lot of blitter waits and Bplcon0 fixes had to be added.
The blitter waits are not time-critical so they will also be applied
on 68000 machines.
I actually started the first version of the patch back in August 2012
already but only patched the loader and not much else. I never really
forgot about patching this demo though as it was on my "needs to be done"
list for a very long time already! So some days ago I simply started
from scratch and created a fully working patch. This demo definitely
deserves much more attention so enjoy it from HD.
If you wonder about the "5 times better than Melon." thing, check the
Melon. 40k intro released at The Party II and you'll understand. :)
