This patch was requested by my old mate Vigo a few days ago and since
I always liked this demo I of course agreed to make a WHDLoad patch
for it. This turned out to be quite a bit of work as quite a few
parts used graphics.library functions extensively, mainly BltBitMap and
stuff like that. I first coded a simple BltBitMap replacement which was
enough for part 4 but part 5 (Yoyoman) required 100% exact BltBitMap emulation
as otherwise there were graphics errors and glitches. Which in turn meant
that I spent quite a bit of time to add fully working BltBitMap emulation
code as I really dislike demo patches which require a Kickstart ROM!
Anyway, this is now done and I can and will reuse the code I wrote for
this patch to patch other demos which use these graphics.library functions.
In the loader/selector part a lot of hidden words can be entered, most of them just
trigger a message but if you enter "WEDNESDAY" a hidden intro will be loaded!
"RESET" would reset the Amiga, in this patch the demo will simply quit back to DOS.
The words you can enter are:
RESET, EXPERT, TURBO, BARBARIAN, MALICE, METALLICA, NONAME, DINCER, FUCK, SHIT,
DOT, OBITUARY, AMIGA, KLF, CODE, BRONX, WEDNESDAY, MAX, VIGO, GHOST, SWAT, GART,
HOOLIGAN, SAM, CEREBROID, LYDIAN, CORTEX, THEON, BLACKJACK, GOZAR
I have also relocated all ByteKiller decrunchers and added an error check, in
case decrunching fails WHDLoad will quit with an appropriate error message.
Enjoy the demo from HD, not the most advanced code but still quite enjoyable
parts with really nice graphics!
Special greetings to Vigo, this one's for you. See you soon in Berlin and
don't forget my beers. :)
