This install applies to "Megademo" © 1988 Beastie Boys.
Requirements:
-------------
This install requires WHDLoad and RawDIC to be in the path.
These programs can be found in the WHDLoad package.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed demo requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.9 MB for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
Features:
---------
- Full load from HD (real files!)
- All OS stuff patched
- CPU dependent timing fixed
- Interrupts fixed
- DMA settings fixed
- Keyboard routine fixed
- Decrunchers (ByteKiller) relocated to fast memory and error check added
- Color flashing during decruncher can be enabled with CUSTOM1
- DMA wait in replayer and sample player fixed (x7)
- Byte write to volume register in replayer fixed (x10)
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
Classic Beastie Boys demo here with a few nice parts. Always liked it
which is why I patched it in the last 2 mornings when I arrived at
work. Code is quite good for its age, except for a few minor problems
with the DMA settings, the usual CPU dependent delay loops and stuff like
that everything was fine.
The demo uses ByteKiller crunched data, I have relocated all decrunchers
and added an error check, if decrunching fails WHDLoad will quit with an
appropriate error message.
Enjoy this classic demo from HD. You can download it here:

Have a nice summer everyone.
