This install applies to "Megademo" © 1988 Alcatraz.
Requirements:
-------------
This install requires WHDLoad to be in the path.
It can be found in the WHDLoad package.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed demo requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.5 MB for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
Features:
---------
- Full load from HD
- Self-modifying code fixed
- All decrunchers (ByteKiller) relocated to fast memory and error check added
- Bplcon0 color bit fixes (x3)
- DMA wait in replayer fixed (x4)
- Byte write to volume register in replayer fixed (x7)
- Interrupts fixed
- Bplcon2 settings fixed in part 3
- One blitter wait added
- Timing fixed
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
It's been almost exactly 25 years that this demo was released and I
still love it! Really nice graphics (I totally love the logo in
the first part), nice music and entertaining parts.
Metalwar's code is really good so patching the demo wasn't much work, I
did it while having my morning coffee. :)
Except for correcting the Bplcon2 settings in part 3, fixing the common
replayer bugs (DMA wait, byte write to volume register, SMC) and adding
a blitter wait in the end part there wasn't much to do. Some minor timing
problems had to be fixed too but other than that the code is fine!
The parts were all crunched with ByteKiller, I have relocated all
decrunchers and added an error check as usual, if decrunching fails
WHDLoad will quit with an appropriate error message.

Enjoy this great classic from HD and have a nice weekend everyone.
