This install applies to "Zine #9" 1991 Brainstorm.
This install requires WHDLoad to be in the path.
It can be found in the WHDLoad package.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed diskmag requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.8 MB OtherMem for preload)
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
- Full load from HD
- All OS stuff patched (AllocMem, file loading)
- Interrupt and DMA settings fixed
- Interrupts fixed
- DMA wait in replayer fixed (x4)
- Intro can be skipped with CUSTOM1
- Bplcon0 color bit fixes (x15)
- Keyboard handling fixed
- Timing fixed
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
And the patch for Zine issue 9 is finished too. Made it this morning
at work. I have reused my code to emulate AllocMem and the DOS functions
to load files (Open/Read/Close) but when enjoying my first coffee it
dawned on me that instead of patching all the calls to these routines
I could as well create a fake Exec and DOS library. And so I did. :)
The replayer has been changed again, no idea why as the player used
for Zine 8 was quite OK and at least didn't have the DMA wait and volume
bugs. Anyway, I had to fix the replayer again this time.
The OS routines have been patched so this patch doesn't require
a Kickstart ROM.
If you want to enjoy some hidden messages from Orlando load the "Title"
binary into your favorite hex editor. :)
Enjoy the mag from HD, just 2 Zine issues left to patch.
