This install applies to "Double Dribble" © 1990 Konami.
This install requires WHDLoad and RawDIC to be in the path.
These programs can be found in the WHDLoad package.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed game requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.6 MB for preload)
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
- Full load from HD (real files!)
- Protection removed (manual check)
- Interrupts fixed (destroyed a4 base register)
- DMA waits in sample and music players fixed (x2)
- Manual included
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
This was done just for fun in a few hours. First I created a patch
that used a disk image but since there was a file table on disk
and the game used a rather slow loader (it loaded one track at a
time) I coded a RawDIC imager to save all files and converted
the patch to use real files. That means much less OS swaps and
Took me a while to figure out the reason for the crashes some
people reported. A4 base register was destroyed in the interrupts
causing all kinds of problems. This only happened randomly though
so it was not easy to find. Anyway, this is now fixed and the
game should now work correctly on all machines.
I have also disabled the protection screen completely now so no
interaction from the user is required anymore to pass it!
Enjoy the game from HD now.
