This patch applies to "Corx" (c) 1991 Starbyte - 1 disk.
The disk image was taken from the CAPS version (which is unprotected).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Slave requires WHDLoad V10+
- Game requires 512k chip mem (+900k other memory for preload option)
FEATURES:
- Full load from HD
- Access fault fixed
- RomIcon, NewIcon and OS3.5 Colour Icon (created by me!)
- Quit option (default key is 'F10')
This game had one very annoying problem! The intro animation sequence
relied on the fact that it would be complete by the time it had loaded the
main game. Initially I couldn't figure out why the WHDLoad version was
crashing when it happily ran from disk. Eventually I had to add a 10
second delay into the intro sequence to give the animation time to finish
before (instantly) loading the main game!
There was one other access fault in the demo sequence which I have fixed
but there may be more of them.
This game is completely pointless in single player mode because the
computer (even on the easy difficulty) reacts instantaneously and never
seems to crash. The computer also has a habit of doing incredible jumps
out of trouble when it needs to. The programmers should have slowed the
game down to a playable speed and built some mistakes into the computer
controlled cars.
