This install applies to "Alchemy" 1993 Rage.
This install requires WHDLoad and DIC to be in the path.
These programs can be found in the WHDLoad package.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed demo requires 0.5 MB ChipMem and 0.5 MB OtherMem
(+1.8 MB OtherMem for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
- Full load from HD

- Reset at end of demo patched to quit to DOS
- Timing fixed
- Decruncher (MegaCruncher) relocated to fast memory
- Interrupt fixed
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
Got a request for this patch yesterday evening so I spent a few
hours today to create it. It was one my "should be done one day" list
for quite some time already anyway.
Nice code here, there were almost no bugs, only a division by zero crash
in one of the vector routines had to be fixed. Other than that there
wasn't much to do but testing took quite a bit of time as the demo is
rather long. If you want to skip the long intro anim you can use
CUSTOM1=1, the demo starts with the main part then.
To enable the hidden part on disk 2 use CUSTOM2=1 but watch that
part at your own risk, it might disturb you. You have been warned!
The parts have been crunched MegaCruncher which is one of many
ByteKiller clones. I have relocated the decruncher to fast memory
for faster decrunching.
I guess that about wraps it up, enjoy the demo from HD, it's still
enjoyable nowadays and the producers have a great taste in music,
they mention Front Line Assembly, Leather Strip and Front 242
in the end scroller! :)
