This install applies to "Great Bytes in Fire" 1992 Cyberiad.
Requirements:
-------------
This install requires WHDLoad and RawDIC to be in the path.
These programs can be found in the WHDLoad package.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed demo requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.6 MB OtherMem for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
Features:
---------
- Full load from HD (real files!)
- Access faults fixed (long write to $dff074)
- Blitter waits added (x11)
- Random generator recoded
- Read from write only register fixed
- Self-modifying code fixed
- Bplcon0 color bit fixes (x13)
- Interrupts fixed
- Reset at tne of demo patched to quit to DOS
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
Short but nice demo here, released at The Gathering'92 and ranked 5th
in the demo compo. Code is quite good but some things still had to
be fixed, for example the random routine used to generate the coords
for the stars in the first part. The original routine relied on the
raster beam position ($dff006) and produced bad results on fast machines
so I simply recoded it! There also was some SMC to fix and some blitter
waits had to be added too, since the blitter wait patches are not
time-critical they will also be applied on 68000 machines.
Enjoy this nice demo from HD, the only flaw is the sine scroller
part, it is much too long in my opinion.
